No sooner had Spencer’s hand moved over his face than Elliot was running over to him, kneeling in front of him, pulling his hand away and frantically asking Spencer to tell him that he was okay. Panting, eyes still closed, Spencer told himself that if he opened his eyes and saw Elliot, everything would be okay. But then he opened his eyes and he couldn’t. His breath hitched in his throat, cutting off a strangled sound of pain and he reached out, feeling for Elliot. His hand eventually came into contact with him and he grabbed on, feeling around to try and get his bearings… His shoulder. Elliot’s shoulder. He moved his other hand to the other side of Elliot and carefully, not wanting to scare or hurt him, slid his hands up until they came to hold his face. He felt like crying “I can’t see you. I can’t see you, Ells. I can’t see anything.”
Elliot felt Spencer’s hand reaching out for him and for a moment he thought everything was okay. He was about to sigh of relief, when he felt something in Spence’s touch that told him that something was wrong. He was like, feeling him and trying to reach for his face. It was obvious that Spence couldn’t see anything. This made Elliot close his eyes, what was he supposed to do? First of all, he felt tears forming in his eyes, but he shook his head. He needed to calm down, mostly because he had to be strong for his boyfriend. Taking a deep breath, he reached for Spence’s cheek and caressed it softly. “I-It’s okay, Spence. Calm down, yes? Okay” he said trying to calm the boy “Now…l-let’s go to the nursery, okay? I’ll help you” He said taking Spence’s hands and put them away briefly so he could stand up. Once he was standing, he helped his boyfriend “It’s okay, Spence. You’ll be fine, don’t worry” He kept saying, trying to give some reassurance to him “N-Now, i’m going to call your mother, okay? W-Where is your phone?” he asked as he put Spencer’s arm around him.
Spencer sat at his computer, staring at the screen, eyes unfocused and clouded with more white in the irises than there had been before. He could feel the keys under his fingertips, wondered if he had even typed anything coherent despite not being able to see them, wondering if he’d even logged into his account. He’d been doing his homework while it had happened. His vision blurred, got worse and worse until all of a sudden it blacked out completely. His heart was hammering in his chest, his breath coming in quick and shallow bursts. He was terrified and on the verge of hyperventilation when the knocking came, followed by the sound of the door opening and Elliot calling his name. Turning in his seat, his first impulse was to go to him, but without his sight he took about five steps before running into something and crumpling to the floor next to it. His sight had been gone much longer than last time. He put his face in his hands.
“Spence! Are you there?” He called one more time looking around, but then he heard a noise and he saw Spencer in the floor “Oh my…” was everything he could say as he quickly ran by his boyfriend’s side. He kneeled right next to him and took Spence’s hand off of his face “Spence, are you okay? Please tell me you’re okay” He said as he intertwined their fingers, trying to give his boyfriend some kind of reassurance. He also caressed the boy’s cheek before talking again “I…I saw your post and i was really worried. Please say something!” He was suddenly feeling really nervous, he hoped that by now Spencer had recovered his vision.
Not even caring that he was already in his pajamas, Elliot got out of his dorm and literally ran over Spencer’s. He was really worried about his boyfriend and he wanted to make sure he was okay. Hopefully this would be something like that time when they were hanging out and it would be only temporary. When he was there he didn’t even knock and made his way inside. “Spence!” he called his boyfriend with worry in his voice.
